About Sacred Japa Malas | Tulsi, Sandalwood & Lotus Beads | SAMA Homes

Sacred Beads & Ritual Malas

Deepen your devotion. Authentic, hand-knotted 108-bead Japa Malas crafted from pure Tulsi wood, cooling Sandalwood, and natural Lotus Seeds for active mantra meditation.

📿 Traditional Hand-Knotting

Our Japa Malas are meticulously hand-knotted between every single bead. This prevents the beads from rubbing together and provides the perfect tactile feedback during meditation.

🌿 Authentic Flora

We source genuine Tulsi (Holy Basil) stems, fragrant Sandalwood, and Kamal Gatta (Lotus Seeds), ensuring your ritual tools carry pure, unadulterated Sattvic energy.

🗣️ The Japa Anchor

Featuring the sacred 108 beads plus the central Guru (Bindu) bead, these malas are designed specifically for counting mantras, helping to focus the wandering mind.

Japa Mala & Devotion FAQ

Which type of Mala should I choose?

Your mala should align with your specific devotion or intention. Tulsi (Holy Basil) is deeply sacred to Lord Vishnu and Krishna, offering profound spiritual purity. Sandalwood (Chandan) has a cooling, calming effect on the nervous system, often used for peaceful meditation and honoring Lord Ganesha or Shiva. Lotus Seeds (Kamal Gatta) are intimately tied to Goddess Lakshmi, making them the perfect tool for chanting mantras for wealth and abundance.

How do I use a Japa Mala for meditation?

Hold the mala in your right hand, draped over your middle finger. Use your thumb to pull the beads toward you, one by one, as you complete each repetition of your mantra. Never use your index finger (the ego finger) to touch the beads. When you reach the Guru bead (the large 109th bead), do not cross over it. Instead, flip the mala around and continue in the opposite direction.

Can I wear my Japa Mala as a necklace?

Yes, many practitioners wear their malas to keep the sacred energy close to their heart chakra throughout the day. However, if you are using a mala specifically for intense mantra chanting (Japa), it is traditionally recommended to keep it stored in a clean, dedicated pouch when not in use to preserve its accumulated spiritual energy.
